ISS Spacewalk Abruptly Canceled Following Medical Emergency

NASA has abruptly called off a planned extravehicular activity (EVA) outside the International Space Station (ISS). The scheduled spacewalk, intended to maintain the station’s aging infrastructure, was scrubbed just hours before airlock depressurization due to an unspecified “medical concern” regarding one of the crew members.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the agency confirmed that “the situation is stable.” While NASA has not disclosed the specific nature of the medical issue or the identity of the astronaut involved, they emphasized that the crew member is currently in safe condition and not in immediate danger. This postponement highlights the extreme caution exercised during orbital operations, where physiological changes in microgravity can complicate even minor health issues. NASA has assured the public that the station remains operational, and the spacewalk will be rescheduled once the crew member receives a full medical clearance.
