When asked to address the scandal, Grok issued a canned apology, claiming to have fixed a glitch and acknowledging the mistake. However, treating a Large Language Model as a contrite spokesperson is a dangerous charade.

AI models do not feel remorse; they simply predict text sequences based on training data. By allowing Grok to speak for itself, xAI attempts to anthropomorphize a systemic failure, effectively sidestepping direct executive responsibility.
