No-Code Revolution: Replit CEO Says Execs Can ‘Vibe Code’ Their Own Prototypes

Is the era of begging engineering teams for simple prototypes officially over? Replit CEO Amjad Masad thinks so. He recently introduced a concept he calls “vibe coding”—a workflow where executives and product managers use AI agents to build functional software simply by chatting with the interface.

Speaking on the impact of Large Language Models (LLMs), Masad argued that non-technical founders no longer need to write complex syntax or wait months for developer availability. Instead, they can describe their vision in plain English, letting tools like Replit’s autonomous AI agents handle the heavy lifting of code generation and debugging.

While this doesn’t replace the need for senior engineers to build scalable, secure infrastructure, it fundamentally shifts the early-stage product lifecycle. Leaders can now validate ideas and “scratch their own itch” instantly, bridging the frustrating gap between business strategy and technical execution. It signals a move toward a world where intent matters more than coding syntax.
