The Moral Vacuum: Why Apple and Google Fear Elon Musk

The tech industry is facing a severe ethical crisis following the proliferation of deepfake imagery on X (formerly Twitter). With users utilizing Elon Musk’s Grok AI to generate non-consensual nude images of women and children, the silence from Apple and Google is deafening.

Despite clear Apple App Store guidelines that prohibit content which is “offensive, insensitive, upsetting, intended to disgust, in exceptionally poor taste, or just plain creepy,” neither Tim Cook nor Sundar Pichai has taken action to ban X from their respective platforms.

The author argues that this inaction isn’t negligence, but fear. The assertion is that Silicon Valley’s most powerful CEOs are terrified of Musk’s political influence and retaliatory power. By refusing to enforce their own Terms of Service, they have effectively sold their principles to maintain access to power, leaving vulnerable users unprotected against AI-driven exploitation.
