Volvo is ramping up anticipation for its upcoming EX60 electric SUV, officially revealing key specs ahead of its January 21st debut. Set to become the automaker’s range leader, the EX60 boasts an estimated 400 miles of range (810km WLTP), significantly outperforming previous models.
Beyond just battery capacity, Volvo is highlighting its new megacasting production process. This manufacturing technique, similar to Tesla’s approach, utilizes large single-piece die-castings to reduce vehicle weight and streamline production efficiency. According to Volvo execs, the goal was to create an EV with “no compromises,” blending extended range with structural innovation.
The EX60 will serve as a crucial midsize SUV in Volvo’s lineup, arriving just before the long-range ES90 sedan.
