Volvo is ramping up anticipation for its upcoming EX60 electric SUV, scheduled to officially debut on January 21st. The automaker has confirmed significant performance upgrades that position the EX60 as a serious contender in the premium EV market.
Headlining the announcement is an estimated range of 400 miles on a single charge. This represents a massive leap over previous Volvo models and rivals many competitors, pending final EPA certification. Additionally, the EX60 will be the first Volvo to utilize a new megacasting production process, a technique popularized by Tesla to reduce vehicle weight and streamline manufacturing efficiency.
Volvo executives emphasized a goal to build an EV with “no compromises.” By combining class-leading range with structural innovations, the EX60 aims to eliminate range anxiety while improving build quality. This launch sets the stage for Volvo’s broader EV expansion, which includes the upcoming ES90 sedan.
