Volvo EX60: 400 Miles of Range and Megacasting Tech Revealed

Volvo is teasing its upcoming EX60 electric SUV, promising a significant leap in performance ahead of its official debut on January 21st. The midsize SUV is expected to boast a range of 400 miles (810km WLTP), substantially outperforming previous models and positioning it as a range leader in the Volvo lineup, second only to the upcoming ES90 sedan.

Beyond battery life, the EX60 marks a manufacturing milestone as the first Volvo vehicle built using a new megacasting process. This technique is designed to reduce overall vehicle weight while streamlining production efficiency. According to Akhil Krishnan, Volvo’s head of the program, the goal is to create an electric vehicle with “no compromises,” blending extended range with structural innovation.
