ISS Spacewalk Abruptly Canceled Following Crew Medical Emergency

A scheduled extravehicular activity (EVA) outside the International Space Station (ISS) was called off on Wednesday due to an unforeseen “medical concern” involving one of the crew members. While specific details regarding the nature of the medical issue have not been disclosed to protect the astronaut’s privacy, NASA moved quickly to address the situation.

In an official statement, the space agency confirmed that “the situation is stable,” offering reassurance that the individual is not in immediate danger. The spacewalk, which was ostensibly intended for maintenance or upgrades, is now indefinitely postponed as flight surgeons monitor the crew member’s condition. This event highlights the rigorous safety protocols governing orbital operations, where even minor physiological changes are treated with extreme caution. NASA has not yet announced a reschedule date for the mission.
