Disney is officially pivoting to the short-form revolution. During its Global Tech & Data Showcase at CES, the company announced that Disney Plus will introduce a dedicated vertical video feed later this year.
According to Disney EVP Erin Teague, the new feature aims to aggregate short-form content into a unified experience. This feed will host a mix of original short-form programming, repurposed social clips, and refashioned scenes from existing movies and series. Teague emphasized that this creates a destination for “all the short-form Disney content you’d want in one unified app.”
The move signals a strategic shift to compete with platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, meeting modern viewers where they are—on their phones. By integrating this immersive, mobile-first format, Disney hopes to boost engagement and offer advertisers a new, highly captivable medium to reach audiences.
